Icosahedron

Description

Ever heard of the shape called an icosahedron?  It is a polyhedron that has 20 faces, 12 corners and 30 edges.  Think Dungeons & Dragons!

In simpler terms, a square has 4 sides and 4 corners.  A 3-D cube has 6 faces, 8 corners and 12 edges and so on.  The icosahedron is just a lot more complex with 20 faces, 12 corners and 30 edges.

In order to understand the complexity of making an icosahedron you might want to do an internet search and make your own.

Doing it in bronze is certainly a lot more difficult and that is what makes this icosahedron in bronze by artist Sarel Petrus so much more special.
